ASSISTANT MINORITY LEADER TOM BERRYHILL ANNOUNCES SUPPORT OF PAUL HEGYI FOR ASSEMBLY
SACRAMENTO - Today, Assemblyman Tom Berryhill (R-Modesto) announced his endorsement of Paul Hegyi for the 10th Assembly District.
"Paul is prepared to represent the residents of the 10th Assembly District," said Berryhill. "He is the type of leader we need in Sacramento; Paul can get straight to work lowering taxes, protecting education, and streamlining government. I look forward to working with Paul."
Elected to the Assembly in 2006, Tom Berryhill is a fourth-generation farmer and Vice-Chair of the bi-partisan Rural Caucus. During just his first two years in the Assembly, Berryhill has received recognition for his work from the American Nurses Association, CaliforniaCommunity Colleges and the California Sheriffs' Association. He was recently appointed Assistant Minority Leader of the Republican Caucus.
"Assemblyman Tom Berryhill is committed to protecting our local communities and encouraging small business growth," said Hegyi. "I will partner with Tom on these issues and work with him to reduce the red tape of government so our California businesses can thrive."
Hegyi, currently chief of staff to Assemblyman Van Tran, is running against Democrat Alyson Huber, who in her first-term voted for the largest tax increase in California history.
