Sacramento- Today Assemblyman Danny Gilmore (R-Hanford) declared his support for Paul Hegyi for the 10th Assembly District.
"Paul's grasp of the issues and overwhelming grassroots support throughout the district make him the ideal candidate to take win in November," said Gilmore. "To win, it takes a candidate who will knock on every door and run hard until the last vote is cast."
"Danny's victory last November is an inspiration for every Republican candidate," said Hegyi. "I am honored by his support of my candidacy and his confidence in my campaign."
Assemblyman Danny Gilmore represents California's Central Valley, including Fresno, Kings, Kern, and Tulare Counties. In 2008, one of the worst cycles for Republicans in recent history, Gilmore defeated Democrat Fran Florez giving the Assembly Republicans their only pickup of the year.
Hegyi currently serves as chief of staff to Assemblyman Van Tran. He is a long-time Sacramento resident and is supported by State Senator Dave Cox and Elk Grove Vice Mayor Sophia Scherman. He is running against Democrat Alyson Huber who in her first-term voted for the largest tax increase in California history.
